Gratitude Photography Project 2014
Read MoreAnother day in NYC to enjoy with my camera is a gift. The Guggenheim is a magnificent structure in itself as well as an important museum. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the cylindrical museum building is wider at the top than the bottom, and is one of the 20th century's most important architectural landmarks. I mainly wanted to visit for the magnificent spiral ramp. Currently the walkway is closed due to preparations for a major upcoming show so I savored what I could see from the ground up. This is a gift for photographers due to the lead in lines and light.
Frank Lloyd Wright was one of the most talented architects ever. His love of nature was exemplified in his work. He prized the fact that the location for this museum was to be next to Central Park. He stated- The good building is not one that hurts the landscape but one which makes the landscape more beautiful than it was before the building was built.
My time at this magnificent structure filled me with deep gratitude for the timeless talent of this talented architect.
Peace.
