Mementos house special memories of a special or unique time. I enjoy them. Our Christmas tree has ornaments from every year of our marriage that represent a special time or event that year. Two of these are nearest and dearest to me and
fill my heart with gratitude. One is a Currier and Ives painted glass ball ornament we bought on our honeymoon at Joskes
Department Store. That sentence was laced with nostalgia! I have not seen a Currier and Ives
ornament in a very long time. And Joskes, I am not certain when they closed their doors. We hang it carefully every year and store it in it's original box. It was expensive for us on our budget then so Bobby and I had to think about it.
The second ornament is one Sara made in second grade in Mrs. Mimi Smith's class in 1990. Of course the picture of her is adorable but I am touched by the love that went in to making it. I am also charmed by the rust that has developed over the years.
I am so very grateful for these precious memories that remind me of all the love in my life.
Peace.
