This is one of the amazing views in Roxborough State Park in Colorado, and it is known for its dramatic red sandstone formations. This park was established in 1975 and in 1980 was recognized as a National Natural Landmark. If you have not visited this park it is truly worth it. It is a park for all ages for it has flat trails but if one is not inclined to walk, there are numerous benches from which to take in this amazing scenery. But you will have to leave your dogs at home.
This image was taken from the top of a trail that was easily managed. I felt like I was in another country. I only live about 40 minutes from this area but I was amazed at the vast contrast of colors, textures, and formations that came together for sheer magnificence. I think I could be an ambassador to this park!
We are so fortunate to have such beauty to get out and see in this wonderful country of ours. Worries can be put away or contemplated, cares can be forgotten and one can sit on a bench or stand on the trail and breathe in gorgeousness and fresh air.
"If every single American could spend a few days a year contemplating the natural beauty which surrounds us and begs for our attention, half the frustrations and anxieties of our population would disappear overnight.” ~ President Lyndon Baines Johnson
Peace.
