Read MoreIt was a treat to spend a large portion of the day on a lovely hike in a nearby state park. It was a gift actually because due to the warmth of the day it was good to be at a little higher elevation and enjoy some cooler air. This is the beautiful Staunton State Park. The scenery was stunning and the trail was draped with colorful wild flowers. Due to the terrain it is a park for all abilities and ages. One can certainly climb the higher terrain but there is so much to enjoy on the flatter trails. This park is in driving distance of the Denver metro area.
This particular bend in the road just caught my eye with its lovely stone work and wildflowers. It is a peaceful place to visit. I am so grateful for the people behind making this a state park for all to enjoy. It is truly a labor of love with the care that is given to the trails. I imagine the workers who built these trails enjoyed the process. One can just feel the care given to this gem of a park.
