Read MoreFeet choose a path each day and carry us into jobs, new experiences, care for others and the home. Often we do not have many choices of a path to take. But we do have control of our presence and outlook. The path that is taken is really never quite the same if we are awake to notice our steps. The journey to day’s end is not always pleasant, but if we walk it with good intentions we can have reason to hope for an outcome that is worthy of our time.
This is an image from a day long hike on Maroon Pass. To some a hike this long is not an option. I am grateful that I can do a challenge like this, and when there is time to do so it provides a bounty of rich conversations, contemplations and awareness of the beauty of life. It offers new perspectives and renewal.
“Habit is necessary; it is the habit of having habits, of turning a trail into a rut, that must be incessantly fought against if one is to remain alive.” ~ Edith Wharton
