Read MoreThere are many sayings about family. Some are witty, some are too perfect to be true, and some just fit. My family is extremely important to me because they love me unconditionally and honor me with their tears, laughter, presence, and their understanding.
This weekend marks Father’s Day. I am knowledgeable about fixing things that are broken due to my father. I was an extra hand for him and I paid attention. He gave me gifts I am just now appreciating. My father in law offers gifts of a different nature that add to my soul. Observing my husband, Bobby these 31 years as a father, I am touched by his overwhelming love for our daughter, his willingness to apologize, and his desire to see her grow into the person she was meant to be. He continues to provide a listening ear for her that often is needed more than my own. I am grateful Sara feels unconditionally loved and appreciated by her father.
Fathers are essential to children. There is a strength and security that fathers offer that strengthen the growing individual. It makes me happy when I see children growing up with the love of both parents.
I have observed this quote to be true in Bobby.
"Being a father is the most important role I will ever play and if I don’t do this well, no other thing I do really matters."~ unknown
Peace.
