I am so thankful and grateful for the parents, teachers, grandparents, and people in general who teach children and adolescents about differences. In this herd of elk this bull was just one of the group. This deformity of the antlers had to be uncomfortable for the elk.
It brought to mind a commercial I have seen on television. It is the one about getting rid of cable and it depicts a man bitten by a bee which results in a deformity of his face. It ends with a group of children laughing at him while he eeks out a living as a lone fisherman.
Now I know it is just a commercial and while I typically mute them or leave the room this troubled me. What about the people who are not discriminating and view this as legitimately funny? With the recent bullying and plethora of troubled people doing terrible things I just wish we could see positive creativity in our commercials. Has anyone else noticed this?
Thank you to all of you who are the positive light in an impressionable person's life.
"One who is kind is sympathetic and gentle with others. He is considerate of others' feelings and courteous in his behavior. He has a helpful nature. Kindness pardons others' weaknesses and faults. Kindness is extended to all -- to the aged and the young, to animals, to those low of station as well as the high." -Ezra Taft Benson
