Read MoreImagine being disoriented or lost in an unfamiliar place. Uncomfortable feelings bubble up and can cloud clear judgement keeping one from making good decisions. This is exactly what happened to this Bighorn Sheep in the parking lot at Glacier National Park. This image was taken at the crest of Going-to-the-Sun Road; we had stopped to get some coffee at the visitor center when we spotted this bighorn. Feelings of empathy washed over us, but like the other visitors that day we realized the best we could do was to give this sheep space to leave on its own. The park rangers probably deal with this situation often in national park parking lots. This sheep more than likely became disoriented in the fog that day. The last place it probably wanted to be was in the middle of a parking lot of cars.
When in this situation it is such a relief and blessing to be on the receiving end of genuine help. Thinking back to the times of being lost or disoriented, it is with deep gratitude and appreciation when a kind soul has offered their time and help to remedy the situation. That is grace and it is wonderful. It makes one look forward to passing this gift on.
