After a stormy Memorial Day weekend the air is fresh; the sky a beautiful bluebird clear blue provides a stunning backdrop to the snowy peaks of Mt. Evans and Mt. Bierstadt and vivid greens in this valley. It is a beautiful day. I am certain there are many people who wish this beautiful day could have occurred this past holiday weekend. I am extremely grateful to have the time to enjoy it. This is scenery that stirs the soul.
This valley suffered greatly in last September’s flood. Much has been done to repair the damage and reroute the creek with a few more bends so the water will slow its force. We have had a tremendous amount of moisture this past week and this creek is running high. The snow in the peaks will melt bringing more water to this creek. Hopefully the melt will be slow and pace itself so as not to disturb the natural habitats along the way. Nature will have its way though.
