Aspiration is defined as strong desire, longing, or aim; ambition.; a goal or objective desired.
Both quotes used today give a grounded and hopeful take on aspiration. If what we aspire to is pure and good then it should benefit not only ourselves but the people around us.
Poppies love the higher altitudes in Colorado. They can be seen adding color to beds, corners and fields. In this image the seed of this lovely red poppy had one aspiration- to become a red poppy. These poppies are a favored flower of mine. The combination of red and black is striking.
In Belgium during WW1 in the spring of 1915, warm weather began to break the hold that the cold had on the battlefield and area. Due to the unusual warmth the farmers of the nearby farms began to plow their fields close to the front lines of the battle. Farmers noticed new life growing, and one of these plants growing in clumps was the red field poppy. The poppy became known as a sign of remembrance. From the seed of these red flowers sprung healing and hope for so many that had lost so much.
I am grateful.
"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead."~Louisa May Alcott
