Read MoreBeautiful classical music performed by four members of the Colorado Symphony entertained our ears while the mountains and sky entertained our eyes last evening at a local event held by the community where we live. Audibly and visually it was a feast for the soul. My lovely neighbor Larisa, a highly talented violinist leads this quartet every year. It brings neighbors who seldom see each other together for a shared time of wonderful entertainment. I am so grateful to experience this splendor, and each year it reminds me why living at this altitude is so wonderful. I am grateful to Larisa and her fellow musicians for planning, rehearsing, and performing for us. Her talented father, Larry, a champion fiddler joined them for the last two songs. It was a memorable evening. Local communities benefit when people are gathered together and enjoy shared time.
“Music does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves: We are the same.” ~ John Denver
