Read MoreChange your opinions, keep to your principles; change your leaves, keep intact your roots."
- Victor Hugo
Lately, I have been contemplating roots- what grounds me and keeps me firmly planted. In this day and age one can be overwhelmed by the ideas and how to’s of living a worthy life. I like simplicity as much as possible. I was drawn to Hugo’s quote and it rings true for us as we go through life experiences. As we grow in knowledge we can change our opinions but he advises to hold to our principles and our roots. I wrote down what grounded me. What it is that I go to every day.
It was an interesting exercise and one I will keep in mind as I go through the rest of my days.
I finally found an appealing image of tree roots while visiting the beautiful Butchart Gardens on Victoria Island. This image brings meaning to me to hold fast to my roots and principles.
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things".~Philippians 4:8
Peace.
