Today our family celebrates a birthday of a strong woman who continues to run a home, put tasty meals on the table, and love and care for her wonderful husband. This woman is my mother-in-law, Vi Swanagon, a woman who is proud of her German heritage, her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchild, and her faith in Christ. She was not only a friend to my own mother, but was a wonderful support for my family during my mother's illness.

As a young mother with her husband in Vietnam and Korea, she would keep my husband and his sister busy on the weekend with fun activities, get them all to church on Sunday and maintain a stable home.

This image was taken last Thanksgiving when they hosted Thanksgiving for the family. Sara and Vi were sharing time together in the kitchen.
