Today is Veterans Day, a day of remembrance for all military personnel who served the United States in all wars. These men and women served our country or are presently serving our country. As this is written there are men and women still in Afghanistan and again in Iraq in combat. Here at home in the US, there are veterans from previous wars that joined the military and served. These men and women left their families and served on foreign soil. These veterans came home; some of them came home to face heath problems. Some brave men and women did not make it home. Their life ended in combat. It is with heartfelt gratitude that I remember loved ones who served, and friends who lost precious family members in war.
May we know a time of world peace very soon. But in the meantime these veterans have my utmost respect and gratitude.
“Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country's cause. Honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field and serves, as he best can, the same cause.” ~ Abraham Lincoln
Peace.
