I remember from It's a Wonderful Life when the older gentleman on the porch shouts down in frustration at Jimmy Stewart, "Youth is wasted on the young!" I can certainly agree with that statement now. As a child time seemed to amble along, summer days drifted by, and it was an eternity before your next birthday. As a child I thought I had plenty of time and many times too much of it.
We have songs about time, poems about time, and scriptures on time. Pete Seeger combined the words of Solomon in Ecclesiastes 3 with music and Turn, Turn, Turn became a popular folk song. There are books about how to make the most of time. It seems we need help with this elusive element of life.
The image on this clock many will recognize as the one at the Musee de Orsay Museum in Paris. I have many shots of the exterior side of this clock. I think this clock is just heroic. It is just a magnificent time piece and example of fine craftsmanship. Photos were allowed in the museum's cafe so I pulled out Bobby's iPhone and took an HDR image. I enjoy seeing Montmartre through the hands of time.
Now time is priceless and I am grateful for every morning I have. To enjoy the moment you are in is a true delight. To look back on the day and feel content is golden.
Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you. ~Carl Sandburg
Peace.
