Read MoreMountain goats can be found in the high altitude mountains here in North America. In the early spring it is a joy to see the young goats. Their beautiful white coat along with their knobby knees yet sure footedness are a joy to see. These goats can climb steep cliffs and ice. They can be found along the highest parts of mountains and along the roadside at the summit. When hiking on some of our highest mountains it is common to see a few of these.
It is always a sheer delight to see animals with their young. This image of this young mountain goat was taken in Glacier National Park. We were at the summit of the Going-to-the-Sun-Road and spotted this young one following its mother. What a gift to see these beautiful animals. They appear to be very trusting of humans. This one passed close by our jeep.
“Walk in kindness toward the Earth and every living being. Without kindness and compassion for all of Mother Nature’s creatures, there can be no true joy; no internal peace, no happiness. Happiness flows from caring for all sentient beings as if they were your own family, because in essence they are. We are all connected to each other and to the Earth.” ~ Sylvia Dolson
Peace.
